Ronda has an eclectic mix of museums, partially due to its interesting and varied History and Origins. Ronda has been proven by archaeological findings in the Old City to be one of the First cities of Spain. As such you would expect to find several examples of Remains throughout the Old City..and there are plenty. The Moorish Baths are a fine example
of remenants of an ancient Spanish civilisation.
Ronda Museum, situated within Mondragon Palace, and Lara Museum (Museo de Lara) both house collections of Roman Acinipo and earlier artifacts. The more modern Spanish Traditions are well catered for too, with Ronda's Bandolero or 'Bandit' Museum, and although not to everyone's taste, the Museo de Caza (Hunting museum) and Bull fighting Museum (located inside Ronda Bullring). These Tourist attractions,
along with some of the most spectacular, breathtaking views across Spain due to Ronda's location at almost a kilometre above sea level, see hundreds of thousands of foreigners flock to Ronda every year. Its a thriving, busy, exciting and action packed little city, balancing modern amentities with traditional.
Ronda is home to several wine estates, a Formula One race circuit and has dozens of wonderful restaurants, rural retreats, hotels and shops packed into
a compact but historically important place.(Cave paintings at the Pileta's Cave date settlement in the Ronda area to the Paleolithic age).

After the conquest of the city by the Catholic Monarchs(1485) deep economic and cultural changes happened in Ronda & throughout Andalucia, which can be still seen at the structure of the city: Opening of squares not existing before, streets made broader, etc.
By the 18th century, Ronda earnt it's definitive role within the province of Andalucia.
It was during this period that the most relevant and well-known monuments of the city where built, as symbols of the former aristocracy and the presence Ronda: The New Bridge and the Ronda Bullring, or 'Plaza de Toros'.
During the 19th century, the romantic image of the city of Ronda grew, as well as the legend of its Serrania (mountains), a world of the bandits and the art of bullfighting creating a deep & lasting impression for many important visitors and travellers alike.
Both aspects have been converted since then into symbols of Ronda's culture and tradition. Despite this, the cultural and traditional richness of Ronda is much wider and diverse that the one offered by this image, cliched as it is. This diversity is the current attraction of Ronda and its Serrania.
