Benahavis is a wonderful traditonal Andalucian village set in the Hills with breathtaking scenery, Flora & Fauna, made famous by it's hostelry & catering college and of course Benahavis' numerous superb restaurants. This culinary gem is situated on the West Costa del Sol in Andalucia approximately 40 minutes drive from Malaga International Airport (AGP). Whilst Benahavis is quite obviously a traditional Andalucian mountain Village in style, Benahavis has absorbed a somewhat
International flavour over recent years. There is a wide range of professional services available now: Art Galleries, modern bars, Pharmacies, banks, doctors, lawyers, dentists at standards equally as high as those in the UK.
Benahavis boasts a plethora of quality indoor & outdoor sports and leisure facilities in and around Benahavis; Horse riding & trekking, rambling, fishing, climbing, tennis clubs, lake waterskiing & wake-boarding just a few km away and of course International competition standard golf courses. These Golf Clubs welcome non-members, tuition is available and equipment is available for hire.
Dining out in Benahavis Restaurants ranges from simple to high class expensive gourmet. We will be adding reviews of these over the following months. The restaurants available include Thai, Chinese & Spanish restaurants. Restaurant prices are very low in this part of Spain when compared with most of Northern Europe but the standard is very high. As an approximate guide expect to pay around £20- £30 (€30-45) per head for a 3 course meal with wine on average, and £35-50 (€50-70) in the top restaurants. A quick recommendation is the brand new El Fogon de Aldea restaurant above the David Marshall Gallery. Excellent for grilled steaks and top-class service. Amanhavis Hotel opens it's
restaurant to the public every evening and is an experience not to be missed. With superb settings & sublime food it is no wonder Amanhavis has been voted one of the best restaurants in Spain by the Daily Telegraph.
To enjoy a pre and/or post-dinner drink we heartily recommend Galeria- the trendiest bar in Benahavis with an interesting mix of art...and a pool table! Worth trying too is the fresh cooked Thai Green Curry in Ambiente bar, currently undergoing reform. Residents are taking bets as to when it will be finished!
Benahavis also boasts its own pottery, has been made home by several renowned International artists & Sculptors (David Marshalls studio & Gallery has been based in Benahavis since 1968), and if you are lucky you may spot several rare species of birds & plants. It is home to nesting Eagles and other large birds of prey are seen regularly gliding high above Benahavis.
The Village also offers 2 Hotels: The stunning 4 star Gran Hotel Benahavis & Spa, and Amanhavis; a spectacular Suite Hotel with 6 rooms, each decorated in different styles from the Sultan Boadbil's Chambers to The Astronomers Quarters. Hotel Amanhavis is also one of the finest restaurants in Benahavis with an extensive Wine List and romantic tiered seating around a pool.
There are several modern bars such as Ambiente & Galeria, Spanish Bars (La Bodega), late night bars such as Orient Express, and a community pool, football grounds & restaurant at the bottom of the village open on weekends.
Within close proximity of Benahavis are the internationally renowned holiday & millionaires playgrounds: the tourist destinations of Puerto Banus, Marbella and Fuengirola.
For the kids there are plenty of attractions in the area like the adventure park of Tivoli World, the Fuengirola Zoo, Sea Life and Selwo Safari, of course the beaches and Aquaparks and many more.

Benahavis Property for Sale has increased in price by on average 20% every year for the preceding 4 years and as a small pueblo set in the Benahavis Hills, the scarcity of available apartments, villas & townhouses for sale in Benahavis looks set to keep appreciating in value despite the current Spanish Property Market in general which is currently suffering from the expansion of other markets for property investment (eg Bulgaria, Turkey & Morocco), and a glut of mis-sold investment property coming back onto the market as distressed sales & urgent sales.
New Developments off-plan near Benahavis are starting at approximately 350,000 euros for 2 & 3 bed apartments.
